It is Finished
I ran out of windshield washer fluid in my car last week. If you drive where road salt is used to melt the snow and ice, like I do, you know what a problem it can be when you are unable to wash your windshield. The road has been barely visible from the driver’s seat of my car. I have been driving like this since last Thursday. It was particularly bad today on the way home from work. The thing is, I had bought windshield washer fluid and filled up the reservoir yesterday and I forgot all about it until I was almost home today. I can’t believe I drove to and from work today with poor visibility just because I forgot that the problem had been taken care of. I just accepted the condition and didn’t even try pressing the button.
A scripture comes to mind about the righteousness that is by faith;
“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart” – Romans 10:8
This is the condition of those who believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. He is near you now. He is in you now. That’s it. There is nothing else required. So, why do we walk around as if we are waiting for something else to happen? You can listen to Him now. You can walk with Him. You can walk as He walked, with clarity of purpose, with boldness, with joy, with victory. But you have to remember that it has already been done and believe that it is finished, otherwise it will be no better than if it had not been done at all.
