“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the people to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.” – Antoine De Saint-Exupery
There is a ship that each of us wants to build. We want to build it because we “yearn for the vast and endless sea”. We cannot build it alone. We are going to need people to join us in our endeavor. If we can get in touch with our desires and teach others to do the same the rest becomes less important. Jesus Christ didn’t give a lot of step-by-step instructions about how to run your life. He did talk a lot about His Father though.
If its freedom you want you are going to need others to help you fight for it. Teach them to love freedom.
If its change you want you are going to need others to start a movement. Teach them to long for change.
If its joy you want you are going to need others to have it with. Teach them to pursue joy.
I am convinced that your deepest desires will lead you to your greatest accomplishments.
